Food Empire Wins Innovative Packaging Award

Singapore Star Award 2000 aims to position homegrown products in the global marketplace

SINGAPORE - 20 June 2000 - Mainboard-listed Food Empire Holdings, through its subsidiary Future Enterprises Pte Ltd, has won the prestigious Singapore Star Award 2000 for the innovative packaging used in its Klassno brand of flavored tea products.

The annual Singapore Star Award 2000, which aims to promote the standards of local packaging design and manufacturing, is jointly organized by the Packaging Council of Singapore and the Singapore Confederation of Industries, and co-organized by the Singapore Food Manufacturers' Association and Corrugated Box Manufacturers' Association. The awards were presented on 12 May 2000.

Future Enterprises, which is one of 25 winners from consumer products category, will vie for the upcoming regional AsiaStar and the international WorldStar awards.

Said Mr Tan Wang Cheow, Managing Director of Food Empire Holdings, "We recognize that creative packaging is integral to the success of our products. We hope that this modest achievement will spur us on to continually improve our products so that Singapore brands can compete well in the global marketplace."
